Dear Mr. President:

US Open Staff has been hosting the US Open Judo Championships for judokas ages 6 – 20 for 29 years, we also now have Senior, Veterans & Team Competition. In 2017 the event had participation of nearly 900 athletes. Because US Open staff and USA Judo is committed to the growth of Judo not only in the USA but in all of our Hemisphere, and since we know that a strong junior program in this continental union means a great future for our sport both in the USA as well as the Americas, we look forward to welcoming you to great competition in beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Please accept this letter and packet as my personal invitation to consider sending a delegation to these US Open event and also additional divisions Seniors, Veterans, u7, u8, u9, u11, u13, u15, u18 & u21. I can assure you that your youth, senior & veterans will have an opportunity to fight several matches against the best United States has as well as some 25+ other countries who participate annually. Although, I realize that most of your federations do not have a budget to send a team to Fort Lauderdale, I ask you to please consider sending this packet out to all of your Youth/Junior/Senior/Veterans coaches and clubs as they may be willing to self-fund to Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida; as I know our athletes here in the States do when we support the other Junior events in this Hemisphere or in Europe or Asia.

As always, we stand ready, willing and able to assist your coaches and athletes secure a visa to attend any event USA Judo hosts in our country. If you need assistance with visa, please contact Corrine Shigemoto at corinne.shigemoto@usajudo.us.
